DIY Typography Holiday Wreath
If you’re sick of the traditional wreaths that have been popular for years, then you’ll love the project that we have for you today. Stand out from the crowd with this modern typography holiday wreath made with a wreath form, wooden letters, artificial greenery and gold jingle bells.
Here’s what you’ll need for this modern typography holiday wreath:
- Square wreath form
- Gold spray paint
- Wooden letters
- Thin gold wire
- Wire cutters
- Hot glue gun
- 5 gold jingle bells
- Artificial greenery
Step by step guide to craft this wreath:
Step 1: spray painting
Begin by spray painting the wreath form gold. Next, once it’s dry, attach one end of a long piece of gold wire to the wreath form and zig zag it back and forth across the wreath form over and over again until it looks like the image below.
Step 2: phrase
Pick a holiday phrase that you’d like to spell out, and selectthe letters. Use your hot glue gun to attach the letters to the wire to spell out the words.
Step 3: leaves
Now pull the leaves off of the stem of the artificial greenery. Use the hot glue gun to attach them to the bottom right corner of the wreath form in a cluster.
Step 4: gold wire
Cut an 8 inch piece of gold wire and string the bells onto it. Twist the ends, and then glue it in the center of the cluster of leaves. And that’s all there is to it! Go hang it on a nail (slightly off to the right, since the right side of the wreath will be heavier).
Conclusion
This is a refreshing departure from the generic wreaths that you will find in all of the craft stores, and you can customize it with whatever phrase you like!
Feel free to experiment with the color scheme; perhaps you might consider silver instead of gold, or even white greenery which would work for the entirety of winter (just make sure you pick a phrase that refers to winter, not the holidays!).
Happy crafting everyone, I hope you enjoy this project!
