Colorful Spring Gift Wrap
Here’s to the easiest gift wrap you will probably ever make! I love accenting traditional gift wrap with all kinds of embellishments, and this colorful, flag wrapping is the perfect accent for any gift box. Since Easter is on it’s way, try making this if you’re giving a gift this Spring.
For this DIY, you’ll need:
- A boxed gift
- Brown paper wrapping
- Twine
- Cardstock
- Scissors
- Embroidery needle or small hole punch
Step 1:
First, wrap your gift with brown wrapping paper or any color you’d like. I like the contrast of the brown paper with the colorful flags. You can easily see the flags against the brown, but any darker color or even pure white would look nice as well.
Step 2:
Cut 1/2 inch strips of cardstock. The key to this craft is having different sizes of flags but each having about the same width. These flags are roughly 1/2 inch wide and the lengths range from 1 inch to 3 inches long. Use a ruler to help guide your lines and cut a lot of strips with different colors. Create a small v-shaped cut at the end of each strip
Step 3:
Use an embroidery needle to string the twine through each flag. If you don’t have a needle, use a thumbtack or pencil tip to create the hole and string the twine through. It will take longer, but it will still do the trick. As you’re stringing the flags through, be sure to switch up the lengths to make it somewhat random.
Step 4:
Tape the twine around your gift box and add a small title tag to the top of the box! You can make a lot of these mini garlands in only a few minutes and they add a whole lot of fun to a simple gift box!
