Natural DIY Hair Masks to Cure Dry Hair
As winter moves into spring, your hair might not be looking or feeling its best. It’s been through months of dryness and weather changes and it’s probably in need of a little extra moisture.
Instead of paying for expensive hair treatments to cute dried strands and split ends, try one of these natural DIY hair masks formulated specifically to help dry hair!
1. Coconut pack
You’ll need: Extra virgin organic coconut oil. That’s it! It’s so rich in nutrients that simply massaging it into your roots and throughout your hair occasionally will benefit each strand and your scalp.
2. Honey and olive oil mask
You’ll need:
- 4 tbsp of honey
- 6 tbsp of olive oil
Once the mixture is applied all over, cover your hair with a plastic bag and let it sit fr 15-30 minutes.
3. Milk and honey mask
You’ll need:
- 1 cup of room temperature full fat milk
- 2 tbsp of honey
Apply the mixture to the driest parts of your hair (ex. the ends), let it sit for about an hour, and wash it out with your regular shampoo.
4. Avocado, olive oil, and honey
You’ll need:
- 1 whole ripe avocado, mashed
- 1 tbsp of honey
- 2 tbsp of olive oil

5. Mayonnaise pack
You’ll need:
- Several spoonfuls of regular mayo
- A couple drops of your favourite smelling essential oil

6. Strawberry mask
You’ll need:
- 200g of fresh strawberries
- 1 egg yolk
- 2 tbsp of olive oil

7. Egg mask
You’ll need:
- 1 egg yolk (separated from its whites)
- 1 cup of milk
- 2 tbsp of olive oil
- A squeeze of lemon juice

8. Banana mask
You’ll need:
- 2 over ripe bananas
- Coconut oil
- 1 tbsp of olive oil
- 1 tbsp of honey

9. Yogurt mask
You’ll need:
- 1/2 cup of yogurt
- 1 tsp of honey
- 1 tsp of apple cider vinegar

10. Apple cider vinegar and lemon mask
You’ll need:
- 1 lemon’s worth of peelings
- 1/4 cup of apple cider vinegar
Blend the ingredients together, massage the mixture into your scalp, and let it sit for 15 minutes. Your scalp will be cleansed of excess oils, leaving it dandruff free.
11. Banana, honey, and almond mask
You’ll need:
- 1/2 of a ripe banana
- 2 tbsp of honey
- 3 drops of almond oil

12. Beer mask
You’ll need:
- 1/2 cup of flat beer
- 1 tsp of sunflower oil
- 1 raw egg

13. Cornstarch mask
You’ll need:
- 1 tbsp of cornstarch
- 1 empty salt shaker
Put the cornstarch into the shaker and use the shaker to sprinkle it over the roots of your hair. The cornstarch will absorb excess oils, causing hair to look less greasy, which actually benefits ends that are prone to dryness in combination hair types. After 10 minutes, brush the cornstarch out. 14. Baking soda mask
You’ll need:
- 2 tbsp of baking soda
- 1 cup of water
