Monkey Bread Twists
I don’t know about you, but there are days when I crave sweet bread- a quick, bread recipe I can make in a few simple steps, that satisfy my sweet tooth. Here’s a traditional monkey bread recipe with a twist. Pull some basic ingredients from your pantry and let’s get started.
You will need:
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 2 cans (16.3 oz each) Pillsbury Grands! biscuits
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts, if desired
- 1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
- 3/4 cup butter or margarine, melted
Start by preheating your oven to 350 degrees. Spray a cake pan or baking pan with non-stick cooking spray.
Mix the sugar and cinnamon together in a bowl.
Divide the biscuit dough into their precut parts. Gently pull them apart to stretch the dough without tearing them. Use a rolling pin and your fingers to flatten them to the desired thickness. This is optional, but it certainly makes it fun to eat!
Dip the dough in the cinnamon and sugar mixture, being sure to coat the entire piece.
Gently twist the dough and place in a baking pan. Do this to the entire pack of dough.Mix together the butter and brown sugar. Stir until it becomes creamy like pancake batter. Pour this mixture over the biscuit dough in the baking pan.
Bake for 28 to 30 minutes, until the center is no longer doughy. Let it slightly cool before removing from the pan. I decided to insertlollipop sticks to the ends for quick grabbing. If your twists are too heavy, this may not work.
And that’s it! Now you have a delicious snack that’s sure to put a smile on everybody’s face for morning breakfast!
