Easy Witches Brew Halloween Cocktails
With Halloween right around the corner and a chill in the air, it’s time to start thinking about new types of Halloween cocktails… especially ones with a bit of a spooky twist. So today I’m going to share with you a delicious recipe for what I like to call my Witches Brew. It is made with bourbon whiskey, but sweetened up with a hint of maple syrup – and it has a unique garnish to top it off!
Here’s what you’ll need for Halloween cocktails:
- 2 ounces of bourbon whiskey
- 1 ounce of Luxardo Maraschino Liqueur
- 1 ounce of fresh lemon juice
- 1/2 ounce of maple syrup
- 1 dash of molasses bitters
- 2sprigs of fresh rosemary
- Matches and a candle
Step by step tutorial to prepare Halloween Cocktails:
Step 1: Measuring
Begin by measuring out 2 ounces of bourbon whiskey into a cocktail shaker. Add the Luxardo Maraschino Liqueur, lemon juice, maple syrup and bitters. Fill with ice and shake vigorously for 30 seconds. Add only a quarter of an ounce of maple syrup if you prefer a less sweet drink.
Step 2: Use crystal glases
Pour over ice into crystal glasses (for a spooky Halloween effect). This recipe will make two small (but strong) servings, or one very large one!
Step 3: Fresh rosemary
Light a candle and hold the top of a sprig of fresh rosemary over it until it smokes a bit. It is important that the rosemary is fresh, because if it is dried, it will probably catch on fire. So please use caution during this step! The goal is to singe the rosemary, giving it a smokey aroma.
Put the rosemary sprigs in your cocktails and enjoy!
The smokey smell of the singed rosemary adds a pleasant element to this tasty cocktail, giving it an extra complex sort of flavor. It’s the perfect signature beverage for a Halloween party, or even just for a chilly fall night. Cheers!
