So I was wondering, can you freeze angel food cake?
Good news! – you can freeze angel food cake. Angel food cake is unlike most other cakes in that it doesn’t contain butter or heavy oils, so it loses its moisture quickly and can become dry and crumbly. For that reason, it’s best to freeze it as soon as possible so that it retains its soft, moist texture after being frozen. Since it’s such a soft, airy cake, it’s also preferable to freeze angel food cake without any icing or other toppings that can weigh it down in the freezer.
How to Freeze Angel Food Cake?
To freeze angel food cake, it might be helpful to freeze it in smaller slices so that it is easier to store without taking up too much space in the freezer. It is also important to double wrap it so that it doesn’t pick up any odors from the freezer.
- Slice the cake into the desired size pieces.
